"Pinning" for Friday: Scappy Organizer

"Pinning" For Friday is a weekly segment I will be posting every Thursday. What? Yes. Thursday. It's a pun on "Pining" for Friday. Huh... huh... Get it? I will feature a pin from one of my Pinterest boards and the clicking journey it leads me on!

This week I'll be exploring my pin, scrappy log cabin organizer. I had forgotten that I'd pinned this, actually. I had it tucked away in my "Projects List" board. I will most likely be making this very soon! I love little organizers I can carry instead of a purse. Much easier as a student walking around campus with a 20 ton backpack on! Anywho... this little pin took me on quite a journey!

The above pictures are not my own, but belong to: Pinterest, Flickr,
Where the Orchids Grow (Leila),  Interweave Press, Pink Penguin (Ayumi),
and LRstitched (Lindsey Rhodes). I merely made a collage using them.

1) My pin.
2) Tutorial called "Scrappy Organizer" on Where the Orchids Grow. So it turns out I'm IN LOVE with Leila's blog! The colors she uses, the fabrics, her projects... New blog crush ensuing. After seeing how much I liked her blog, I started looking at her menu on the right, which led me to...
3) Zakka 2.0: Patchwork, Please - A book sew along through. YES! I literally just bought this book this weekend! The sew along starts June 3rd... I'll be there!
4) The book for the sew along is Patchwork, Please by Ayumi Takahashi Mills. Visit her blog Pink Penguin... this was one of the very first sewing/quilting blogs that I found. She inspires me constantly.
5) From the Zakka 2.0 Sew Along, I was led to the Flickr group, Zakka Along 2.0:: Patchwork, Please for the event. Can't wait to get started!

I hope you enjoyed this journey, and you are now inspired to explore your pins!
